A perfectly postmodern porcelain "City Modern" tea set by Lutz Rabold for Arzberg, the famous Bavarian porcelain factory founded in 1887. Rabold designed this set in the mid-1980s with brightly colored lids, handles and spouts beautifully contrasting the traditional porcelain forms and glaze. The set includes a tea pot, creamer pitcher, and a sugar bowl. The "City Modern" design is consistent with the Memphis Milano-inspired design coming out of Europe and North America at the time, and is so iconic that it can be found in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum and Australia's Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences.
In excellent vintage condition with no signs of wear. Each piece retains original paper label on underside, along with the glazed stamp.
