An amazingly optically pleasing laminated lucite candle holder attributed to designer Richard Soong, likely from the 1970s, and in the style of Vasa Velizar Mihich and Merle Edelman. Part Op Art in its play with light and color, part Space Age because it feels so futuristic! Designed with laminated lucite with red, blue, orange and yellow color in-between each section, it changes color depending on which direction you view it from. It holds a standard sized capered candle, making it a a fabulous sculptural and functional addition to any home.
In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including mild scuff marks. It is still glossy and bright.
