A perfectly designed mid-century modern wall clock by Arthur Umanoff for George Nelson Associates for the powerhouse clock maker Howard Miller, likely from the 1970s. A model 517, it has a black face with white numbers, a rattan case, and orange hands.

Arthur Umanoff (1923-1985) was a prolific mid-century designer whose designs include, in addition to many clocks, a range of décor items, home and office furniture, bars and barstools, and patio furniture. Howard Miller was founded in 1926 and, starting in 1947, produced a huge number of collectible modern design clocks by George Nelson Associates. At that time, Nelson was also Director of Design at Herman Miller Furniture Company.

In very good condition with light wear consistent with age. Original hands with a new movement takes a single AA battery. Marked on face with "Howard Miller" name and logo and on back with original label.
