A set of four ceramic mugs in the Carnival pattern for Kato Kogei's Fujimori Collection. Fujimori was born in Japan in 1935 and won the National Art Award when he was just 19. He later worked in Chicago as a ceramics designer before returning to Japan in 1963. As Art Director for Kato Kogei Ceramics, he oversaw the design and distribution of his signature line. These pieces are perfect 1980s postmodern with a heavy dose of Memphis Milano influence, including geometric shapes and pops of vibrant color. This set contains one mug of each of the four designs from this pattern.
