$1,100.00

A lovely black, red, and off-white abstract etched design by Valerie Jaudon (b. 1945), most famous for her role in the Pattern and Decoration Movement of the mid-1970s. Jaudon's work evokes motifs and the embellishments of folk art, decorative arts, and non-Western traditions of abstraction. For this piece and much of her work, Jaudon often used symmetric compositions comprised of repetitive, patterned forms that span the entire surface of a work. All of her works are part of an ongoing exploration of systems, and in using simple elements and few colors to create visually complex images.

This untitled piece is a silkscreened print framed in a light colored wood frame and was deaccessioned from the Cushman & Wakefield corporate art collection. Handsigned and dated by the artist "Valerie Jaudon 1981" and number 20 of an edition of 30.
