A 1989 Luceplan design by Alberto Meda (designer for Kartell, Vitra, and Alfa Romeo) and Paolo Rizzato (one of Luceplan's founders), the Lola lamp was awarded the prestigious Italian design award, Compasso d'Oro, for its innovative use of materials and design. Made of aluminum and carbon fiber, the Lola can be height adjusted thanks to a hollow telescopic stem while the microperforated metal reflector is adjustable to provide direct or diffused light. The Lola is normally seen in a floor lamp or sconce version but this much rarer example is the best of both worlds. With an aluminum angled wall-attached base (an 8 degree angle), the lamp is a discreet and "lightweight" but distinct presence than can almost double in size while also having a regular lamp plug so it can be easily plugged in or unplugged and pulled out of the base for storage or use in any other base. The lamp's head has a fork shaped form that protects the halogen bulb and the built in frosted glass shade.
In very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including marking and a few cracks that don't impact the functionality. Made in Italy.
