A 1980s postmodern and minimalist black and gray torchiere floor lamp designed by Ron Rezek, the West Coast American lighting kingpin known for his many iconic designs produced by his eponymous company and Italian heavyweight Artemide. This torchiere has an inverted black metal bowl shade, three gray tube stems, and a black pyramid base. It has three different brightnesses, adjusted by tapping the stem (no knobs or dials to fuss with). Memphis influenced and providing fantastic light, this lamp is a stunning piece of well-designed lighting.
Rezek earned bachelors and masters degrees in Industrial Design, studying under Henry Dreyfuss, Charles Eames, Neils Different and Don Chadwick. In 1978, he started Ron Rezek Lighting, which he sold in 2004, as well as designing for a handful of other lighting manufacturers.
In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including light marketing on the base and stem. Has the original Roz Rezek sticker on underside of the base. Takes a single halogen bulb and a replaceable fuse (found on the base).
