A set of ceramic tea pot, sugar bowl and creamer in the Carnival pattern for Kato Kogei's Fujimori Collection. Fujimori was born in Japan in 1935 and won the National Art Award when he was just 19. He later worked in Chicago as a ceramics designer before returning to Japan in 1963. As Art Director for Kato Kogei Ceramics, he oversaw the design and distribution of his signature line. These pieces are perfect 1980s postmodern with a heavy dose of Memphis Milano influence, including geometric shapes and pops of vibrant color.
In vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Each has minor paint loss and the tea pot has a chip on the edge of the opening on top. (See photos.)
Pot is 11.5" x 8" x 4.5"
