Designed by the Irish-Scottish architect and designer Eileen Gray in 1929, the Monte Carlo sofa is a true icon of Modern Design and enshrines Gray's contribution as a pioneer of Modernism. With a soft curving backrest, chrome tubular frame, beech with rubber webbing seats, and black leather upholstery, the sofa is about as close as you can come to perfection! Equally at home in an Art Deco, mid-century modern, postmodern, or contemporary interior, it plays well with many different styles.
In the 1970s when she was in her 90s, Eileen Gray (1878-1976) began working with Zeev Aram to put her furniture, rugs and lamps into production. In 1973, she granted the worldwide rights to manufacture and distribute her designs to Aram's company. ClassiCon is now the sole producer of her iconic furniture designs, in coordination with Aram Designs Ltd., London.
