A beautiful set of 3 Danish Modern teak nesting tables by Erling Torvits for Heltborg Mobler from the 1950s. Along with a sexy and slim profile, each table is marked with a “Heltborg Mobler No. 20” brand; one table also has a “Made in Denmark for International Designers Group” metal IDG tag.
At some point in the tables’ lives, the tops were refinished to remove years of grime (and probably a lot of cigarette smoke) exposing the rich color of the teak. It looks as though the refinisher got a little overzealous and over-sanded by a fraction of an inch in a few spots on the edge. (See pictures.)
Other than that bit of character, the tables looks phenomenal and are structurally solid. (All joints have been tightened and re-glued.)
