This iconic space age Globe 2000 floor lamp was designed by Frank Ligtelijn for Raak, a Dutch lighting firm. Originally a jewelry maker, Frank Ligtelijn (1933-1996) became part of the design team at Raak in the early 1960s and is best known for the minimalist Globe 2000 Floor Lamp (1961), an icon of Dutch mid century modern lighting design.
The sophisticated simplicity and high-quality materials make this not only an exemplar of Space Age design, but keep it in demand among vintage design collectors. (You can even see it in Dev’s living room in Netflix’s “Master of None.”)
The lamp’s height is adjustable, as is the angle of the globe. Has its original on-off foot switch.
