Italian Rosewood Chest of Drawers by M.I.M., c. 1960

$3,000.00

A stunning Italian Modern rosewood chest of drawers by M.I.M. (Mobili Italiani Moderni), circa 1960. Well-known for producing a large number of pieces of Ico & Lusia Parisi's work, M.I.M. was located in Rome, Italy, in the 1950s and 1960s and specialized in beautiful desks, tables, shelving, and dressers that mixed woods with metals.

This design features 5 drawers with finished interiors and back, all made of rosewood. Very similar in look to Florence Knoll’s credenzas and George Nelson’s Thin Edge line for Herman Miller. Has five drawers with perfectly mid-century modern drawer pulls. One of the drawers locks but there is no key unfortunately. The structure sits on a darker wood base and four polished aluminum triangular feet that give the feeling that the dresser is floating.

“M.I.M. Roma” manufacturer’s mark inside top drawer.

This piece is in great vintage condition with no structural issues. It has a few paint spots on the back and one side and light wear to the top.
