Designed in 2000, Maurizio Peregalli's Big Irony series of products for Zeus were unique in their construction from unpainted steel. Peregalli embraced the surface irregularities of the material so daily use would cause stains that added to the line’s patina and beauty. For the round Big Irony, the designer chose to use an epoxy painted steel with a black copper color finish that is nearly identical in color and irregularity to the “original’” phosphatized sheet steel of the unpainted Big Irony pieces. In addition to achieving the originally intended look, the epoxy painted steel ensures a consistent finish through the table’s life.
Connecting the table’s round top and round base, Peregalli's design decision to utilize asymmetrical supports gives the table a constant changing profile as you walk around or sit at it
In very good vintage condition with little wear from use or age.
