A set of eight ceramic mugs and eight ceramic plates in the Alpha 3 pattern for Kato Kogei's Fujimori Collection. As Art Director for Kato Kogei Ceramics, Fujimori oversaw the design and distribution of his signature line. These pieces are perfect 1980s postmodern with a heavy dose of Memphis Milano influence, including unusual geometric shapes and pops of vibrant color. Each mug has a slightly tweaked design with one matching plate, which creates a fantastically consistent but differing set.
In very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. One mug has a chip on the handle, one mug has slight crazing, and two plates have small paint loss spots. (See photos.) All pieces should be hand washed and not put in a dishwasher.
