Considered an homage to Paolo Uccello, a 15th century painter and mathematician, and manufactured by Simon Gavina in Italy, the Tomasa chair is a simple and beautiful design. Constructed of wax finished curved oak slats forming the back and seat, as well as threaded brass inserts that create a hinge, the chair easily folds flat for storage. While Simon was later acquired by Cassina who continued to manufacture the practical and comfortable, foldable and versatile Tomasa chair, this is an earlier edition.
In very good vintage condition with slight wear consistent with age and use, including one small dent between two slats on the chair's back.
