A slightly longer than 1.5 yard piece of Grant Allen's "Dorningclorn" textile for Alleniana Design from 1977. Allen designed a brown foreground, white horizon, and shades of orange, red, brown, black, and blue to create the feeling of looking into a beautifully colored setting sun. The pattern repeated on the roll of silkscreened fabric, but this piece perfectly captures the design.
Alleniana was a husband & wife team that created numerous mid-century modern inspired designs in the 1970s and sold them from their shop in Port Townsend, WA.
In good vintage condition and signed in selvedge (1977, "dorningclorn" by grant allen for alleniana, port townsend, hand silk-screened). This piece has never been used and selvedge edge remains.
